Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the heart of the city stands "Tong Shunxiang," a century-old shop renowned for its unique bingjing cake-making technique, a closely guarded secret passed down through the Liu family for generations.
Liu Tingshen (Zhang Guoli), the patriarch, remains reluctant to share the coveted recipe with his son, Liu Jiansan (Han Geng). This familial disagreement breeds misunderstandings and a growing rift between father and son, leading Jian San to make the difficult choice of leaving home to forge his own path. Many years elapse, and with Liu Tingshen's health deteriorating, Jian San returns home to reconcile.
