Synopsis and Plot Summary
Amidst the Sino-Japanese War, Hua Zhen, born into a family of high-ranking Kuomintang officials, initially aspired to join the navy and achieve his dream of becoming a captain. However, an unforeseen event reshaped his destiny entirely.
Renaming himself Xiang Yuansheng (Li Xian), he embraces a new life as a low-ranking police officer in a dilapidated station. Here, he crosses paths with the two most influential figures in his life—Communist Party members Chen Hao (Zhou You) and Luo Minmin (Ren Min).
