Synopsis and Plot Summary
Set in China in the year 2003, Han Dong, a high school drop out from a small town who dreams of being a reporter, leaves home despite his family’s objections to bravely pursue his ideals.
Before the Internet came and swept everything in its path, paper media was king. Han Dong (Bai Ke), a youth with no money, no education, nor background, starts his career as a Beijing Drifter alongside his girlfriend Xiao Zhu (Miao Miao). Through the help of well-known reporter Huang Jiang (Zhang Songwen), Han Dong gets a job as an intern at the newspaper company. While investigating a case, he makes a discovery that places him in a dilemma between his bright future ahead and the justice in his heart.
