Synopsis and Plot Summary
The film tells the determined, persistent and legendary life of Chen Wangdao, the translator of the first full Chinese translation of "The Communist Manifesto".
Chen Wangdao (Liu Ye) who has returned to China after studying in Japan takes over the task of translating the "Communist Manifesto", which changes the trajectory of his life; Chen Duxiu (Hu Jun), Yu Xiusong (Liang Tingwei), Shi Cuntong (Wang Qiang) and other historical figures also appear in the story. After going through the turbulent changes of the times and seen friends who have sacrificed or left, Chen Wangdao faces the test of life and death.
