Synopsis and Plot Summary
In November 1937, the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Anti-Japanese Base Area was established. Youths from all walks of life across the country flock to the base to devote their lives to the war of resistance.
Xiao Yunfei (Yan Yikuan) who is both skilled in literature and martial arts has gone to find his younger sister Xiao Yuping (Min Chunxiao) who was studying in Baoding. After many twists and turns, he discovers that she has returned to their hometown in Cangzhou. Despite being raised in a life of comfort, the grief-stricken Xiao Yuping who is filled with indignation over what happened to her hometown joins the Eighth Route Army. Through his sister, Xiao Yunfei meets patriotic youths like Cai Xiuqin (Du Ruoxi). On the Great Wall of China, they make a vow to fight endlessly for national liberation from Japanese invaders.
