Synopsis and Plot Summary
A female college student has fallen from a building. Cheng Rui, the deputy captain of the Criminal Investigation Detachment who is new to his post, has been commissioned by deputy director Du Yulin to investigate the case.
During his investigation, Cheng Rui (Zhou Yiwei) discovers that the woman's death is related to crimes like fraud masked as loans and subsequent violence from aggressive debt collectors. Businessman An Yiming (Eric Tsang) has been listed as a key target for investigation. Cheng Rui wants to look into the case further but he has been asked to close the case as soon as possible. In a city full of danger, An Yiming's wife Zhou Tong (Qin Hailu) and economics professor Zhao Xianyu (Chilam Cheung) are caught in the fray. Cheng Rui and his colleagues are deep into the case without realizing that there is a bigger conspiracy behind it.
