Synopsis and Plot Summary

Peng Lai was once the lead singer of a popular rock band in China. She perseveres in reaching for her dreams and overcomes many hardships with her teenage daughter Bai Tian.

When the all-female rock band "Mad Flowers" was at the height of its fame, its lead singer Peng Lai who has a wild and uninhibited personality gave birth to a daughter out of wedlock when she was less than 20 years old. Due to relationship problems, she leaves for a new life in the United States when her daughter Bai Tian was only six years old.

Unfortunately, Peng Lai's once glistening career utterly fell apart. She becomes a low-level migrant worker to make a living overseas and had no contact with Bai Tian for twelve years, that is until a phone call brought her the most dreaded news.

Bai Tian's father has suddenly died of a heart attack. Peng Lai is now Bai Tian's only living relative. It seemed inappropriate to have Bai Tian living alone as a teen, so Peng Lai has no choice but to return to China. As expected of Peng Lai and Bai Tian who represent two generations of independent women, their first meeting was heated. Trying to live together after a lapse of so many years is even more difficult and the mother-daughter pair are forced to make corresponding changes. In this extraordinary family journey, they rediscover each other.
