Synopsis and Plot Summary
Song Sining came to Beijing with a dream that she's worked hard to achieve. However, she and her husband start to have differences on the topic of childbirth.
Li Junlong (Jiang Yi) hopes to respond to China's call for people to have a second baby. His wife Song Sining (Gao Lu) believes in bettering the home first. Hoping to realize her self-worth and career aspirations, she aims to complete the task of corporate reform before trying for a baby again.
Meanwhile, Song Sining's boss Chen Songying (Chen Zihan) is also caught in the craze to have a baby after her husband Guan Zheng (Guo Xiaodong) attended a 100-day banquet for his friend's second child. The two suddenly give up on their philosophy of being a DINK ("Dual income, no kids") in hopes of becoming parents.
Song Sining's half-brother, Song Weiyi (Leng Jiyuan) and his new wife have come all the way from their hometown to stay with her. Their arrival brings new conflicts into the family. In this modern metropolis, although husband and wife have occasional frictions, they recognize and respect each other in trying to build a happy and beautiful life together.
