Synopsis and Plot Summary
A truly comprehensively story about the life of Xiang Jingyu, the only female among the pioneers of the Communist Party of China. She was the the first female member of the CCP Central Committee and the first secretary of the Women’s Movement Committee. She was an outstanding leader, a role model and hero.
In 1912, Xiang Jingyu (Hu Jing) studied at the First Provincial Women's Normal School of Hunan. After graduation, she returned to her hometown and founded the Xupu Women's School. Shen then travelled to France for a work-study program and formed the "Xiang Cai Alliance" with Cai Hesen (Sui Yongliang) who later became her husband.
In 1921, Xiang Jingyu returned to China and was elected as a member of the Central Committee. In 1925, Xiang Jingyu led and organized the May Thirtieth Movement. After the failure of the Great Revolution, Xiang Jingyu insisted on staying in Wuhan. In 1928, she was arrested and executed. She was only 32.
