Synopsis and Plot Summary

The innocent and unconventional Shen Miao meets two guys - the gentle and black-bellied Pei Yanzhen and the charming Song Xiyuan. Choosing a husband is difficult while both husbands are determined to protect the wife.

Shen Miao (Sophie Zhang), the daughter of the richest man, has immeasurable wealth and beauty. However, she encounters many ups and downs in the road to getting hitched. The first time she married the scholar Pei Yanzhen (Xing Zhaolin) whose family has been in the government for generations, their ancestors turned out to be related such that her husband has become her cousin.

When she got married for the second time, it was to a man who seemed to be a suitable match in terms of social status. Song Xiyuan (Riley Wang) is the third son of a wealthy merchant. However, they also end up separating. While the confusing relations between the three of them cannot be cut, a conspiracy in the court slowly unfolds.

It is another drama adapted from a novel by Dian Xian who also wrote the novel that Ashes of Love’s is based on.
