Synopsis and Plot Summary
Coming to Beijing to carve out a career for themselves, Jianbin and Xiaohui are confronted with emotional conflicts and uncertainties about where life will lead them after seven years of marriage.
Jianbin (Geng Le) and Xiaohui (Xu Jinglei) have lived together for seven years. Although they no longer have the intense passion that they shared at the beginning of their relationship, they are still in love with each other. Unexpectedly, Jianbin becomes unemployed. He hasn't found a job in three months and he can hardly afford to pay rent. Jianbin hides the truth from Xiahui and spends his days at the subway while pretend to be at work.
At this time, Li Chuan (Wang Ning) walk into his life. Li Chuan lost her eyesight due to an incident at the subway. Jianbin pretends to be her partner and goes to the hospital everyday to take care of her. Meanwhile, Xiaohui is being pursued by another man. She still has persistent feelings for Jianbin but when she learns about his secret, the relationship might just come to an end.
Fun Facts
- It is the directorial debut of Zhang Yibai.
- Before filming started, Zhang Yibai requested the two leads Geng Le and Xu Jinglei to get to know each other better. They took the subway everyday for more than 10 days.
