Synopsis and Plot Summary
After Li Zicheng's defeat during the late Ming Dynasty, he left behind the key to finding his great many treasures in the hands of his four personal guards Hu, Miao, Fan and Tian. Whether out of self-interest or a duty to help others, forces from the pugilistic world and the imperial family are determined to find the treasure.
All the grievances between the Hu, Miao, Fan, and Tian clans originated from the legend that Li Zicheng has collected the wealth of the world and left the secret to finding it in their custody. As such, everyone has been searching for their whereabouts while they themselves are fighting against each other. One day, Hu Yidao (Anthony Wong) and Miao Renfeng (Alex Fong) of the Hu and Miao families meet for a duel to the death. While they are engaged in battle, Tian Guinong (Patrick Tam), a descendant of the Tian family, seizes the chance to kill Hu Yidao using poison. Before Hu Yidao dies, he entrusts his son Hu Fei (Nie Yuan) to his loyal servant. Hu Fei grows up seeking vengeance on the man that he thought to be his father's murderer.

- It is Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Jing's first Mainland Chinese production that's adapted from a Jin Yong novel.
- Filming began at China (Huairou) Film & TV Base in Beijing on February 2, 2006.
- Filming lasted over three months and wrapped on May 16, 2006.
- It is the sequel to The Young Flying Fox.
