Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao in the 1930's, the story follows a young man returning from overseas who hides in a debt-laden clinic as a small-town doctor in order to find out the truth behind the deaths of his parents.

Lin Fei (Bosco Wong) practices medicine in a small town on the outskirts of Huizhou. He is an outstanding doctor who is bold and resolute. Together with Wu Renyao (Liang Guanhua), the enthusiastic owner of the Wu Family Clinic, and nurse Wu Ruolan (Sun Yaoqi), they work together to keep the place running. Lin Hao also forges a deep friendship with He Xinxin (Zhang Yishang) who hails from a family of martial artists and Zeng Fan (Yi Daqian) who has returned from studying medicine abroad. The Wu Family Clinic's existence has given neighboring villagers a place of solace to heal their bodies and minds during the turbulent period of the Republic of China.

While treating a patient, the witness to an old case from many years ago emerges. Zeng Fan's father Zeng Wanxi is accused of being the perpetrator behind the unexpected deaths of Lin Fei's parents many years ago. Lin Fei finds justice for his family and punishment is served to those who deserve it.
