Synopsis and Plot Summary
Sun Guangming who is sent as the first secretary to a target village works with the aides to lead the villagers to a warm and fruitful life.
Sun Guangming (Jin Dong) is the secretary of the Youth League Committee for the Bureau of Commerce. He goes to Dahuaishu village as the "first secretary" in order to strengthen grassroots training. Thinking that he would easily accomplish the task, the "poisonous vegetation incident" deals a blow to the village. Xu Hong who was the reporter of the incident is consumed with guilt and returns to Dahuaishu.
Meanwhile, villager Liu Yujiu also returns at this time. He manages to sway the head of their family, Liu Shirong, by finding his weakness and luring him to stand on the side of supporting the removal of the village. When it seemed that there was no changing the decision, the villagers unexpectedly hold a farewell ceremony. Grandma cries for the graves of the nameless soldiers that have been buried for decades. Sun Guangming is deeply moved by what he witnessed and becomes determined to keep Dahuaishu village intact. He uses the internet to open up a market for ecological vegetables and tourism.
