Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set in Shanghai, the story follows four guys who used to be college roommates. As they mature and become stable well into their adulthood, they come to experience different dilemmas that men face.

Four friends have chosen different paths after college. Tong Yu (Zhang Han) has become an engineer that specializes in artificial intelligence. Guo Chong (Du Chun) has become a university professor. Xiang Xiaofei (Jing Chao) has become a store manager while Li Jiesen (Huang Youming) has become a chef of Western cuisine.

However, each of them are having troubles of their own. Tong Yu faces huge difficulties in research and development. Guo Chong may have a stable job but he has started to lose passion for it. Li Jiesen finds it difficult to break the bottleneck while Xiang Xiaofei struggles between the lure of money and sticking to his ideals. As midlife crisis strikes at their age, they constantly have each other's backs in navigating an adulthood full of ups and downs.

At the same time, Tong Yu's love life is an emotional roller coaster. Guo Chong's relationship with graduate student Amy continues to be vague. Li Jiesen actively pursues his idol, weibo writer Yue Ziqian. Xiang Xiaofei has a flash marriage with female executive Liu Shengnan. Somehow, their love lives seem more rocky than their careers. In the most beautiful era, they walk along the road towards harvesting success in their careers, in love and in life.
