Hear Her incorporates eight themes to tell stories of contemporary women and the difficulties that they face as it tackles family, patriarchy, vanity, age, being a housewife, domestic violence, mid-life crisis and objectification of women.

- It is the first female monologue produced in China. Each episode is only 15 minutes long.
- The idea originated from Vicki Zhao in 2018 after she saw the BBC show Snatches: Moments from Women's Lives.
