Synopsis and Plot Summary
Three interconnected yet independent stories about three couples of different ages, different regions and different occupations who undergo the premartial examination.
The first story follows Chen Wei, an unemployed man and his pursuit of love during the mid-1980's. The second story follows a romance between a college student from Jiangnan and her American classmate. The third story follows the changes in the relationship between a widow and a man from the village. Faced with many contradictions, can lovers who are about to make a vow to each other surpass the test?
