Synopsis and Plot Summary

In order to find the whereabouts of his missing daughter, Guan Ning must assassinate a young novelist. Shockingly, the world described only in books is affecting everyone's fates as the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur.

Guan Ning (Lei Jiayin) accepts a task from Tu Ling (Yang Mi) to assassinate a young novelist (Dong Zijian). Within the majestic and magnificent world, a young man embarks on the road of killing a god within the limits of a mortal body thus igniting an adventure that unfolds in two parallel worlds.

Assassin in Red took three years to prepare and began filming with over 700 staff.
Filming took place in Qingdao.
Filming lasted from November 5, 2018 to March 7, 2019.
Filming took half a year, 2 months of shooting on green screen and 4 months on location.
Tong Liya takes a special starring role.

The title translates to Novelist Assassin.
