Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set in a leading public hospital in Hong Kong is a story that revolves around the efforts to reform the healthcare system in spite of the overwhelming conflicts brought by differences of opinions and moral dilemmas.

To implement medical reform in Hong Kong is an absolute necessity. With an unconventional plan to privatize public hospitals, Marshall Paxton Hospital has become a pilot for reform with funds being raised through IPO to maintain operations. Yeung Yat-to (Roger Kwok) who is the deputy chief and head of neurosurgery has spent five years planning for its deployment to turn Marshall Paxton into a medical kingdom worth tens of billions.

Cardiothoracic doctor Tong Ming (Kenneth Ma) opposes Yang-to's plans and his ex-wife So Yee (Natalie Tong) is also dragged into the fray. Tong Ming and his student Poon Wai-tak (Matthe Ho) fight side by side to prioritize human life, yet they are forced to participate in the endless power play by Chief Lui Chung-hok (David Chiang). Yat-to, Tong Ming, So Yee are the people in white robes whose mission is to save lives, yet their fight is not against diseases but human greed and ambition.
