Synopsis and Plot Summary

Shi Guang discovers an ancient Go board that leads to his encounter with Chu Ying, the spirit of the first Go player from a thousand years ago. Under Chu Ying's influence, Shi Guang begins his journey towards becoming a professional player.

Shi Guang (Hu Xianxu) meets Chu Ying (Zhang Chao) after chancing upon a Go board that is haunted by his spirit. Through the help of Chu Ying, Shi Guang who did not have an interest for Go beats prodigy player Yu Liang (Hao Fushen) at his own game. Shi Guang has made two promises. For his good friend Chu Ying, he is determined to strengthen his heart to fulfill a dream. Towards his opponent Yu Liang, he must hone his skills to become a better version of himself.

Fun Facts

It is the Chinese live-action adaptation of Hikaru No Go. The manga series was also adapted into an anime by Studio Pierrot that ran from 2001-2003.
It is former child actor Hu Xianxu's first leading role in a web drama after he turned 18.
Filming wrapped in 2019.
Hu Xianxu, Zhang Chao and Hao Fushen play the live-action counterparts of Hikaru Shindo, Fujiwara-no-Sai and Akira Toya.
