Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set during the late Qing dynasty and the beginning of the Republican era, the story follows Lu Yuanzhi, a talented tailor who becomes the master of cheongsam.

The improved cheongsam that Lu Yuanzhi (Zhang Haowei) designed has ignited a murder case. After escaping death many times, Lu Yuanzhi meets Princess Kangning (Gai Yuexi) who is the love of his life. His skills eventually gain the recognition of the palace and as Lu Yuanzhi surpasses his teacher and reneges from marrying his teacher's daughter, their master and apprentice relationship crumbles. Lu Yuanzhi attempts to stand on his own but faces many trials and tribulations along the way.
