Synopsis and Plot Summary
Set against the backdrop of the 1911 Revolution that ended the thousands long history of imperial dynasties, the story depicts the real events surrounding the 72 martyrs of the Yellow Flower Mound Revolt in Guangzhou. It follows Li Peijun, an orphan who undergoes many changes in his life as he becomes a hero.
The 20-year-old Li Peijun (Cheng Yi) was adopted by poor widow Huang since he was a child. He is brave, fierce and roams the streets armed with a simplistic chivalry in his bones. Because of his childhood sweetheart, he becomes involved in the incident surrounding the assassination of corrupt officials. After his adoptive mother was killed and the woman he loves forcibly taken from him, Li Peijun devotes himself to the new era. Under his three mentors Wen Hancai, Gao Kunlun and Liu Sifu, he becomes an inspiration to all as the young hero who turned the tide of the revolution.
