Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story of two best friends set in Shanghai follows Jiang Nansun and Zhu Suosuo who come to grow and support each other throughout the golden era of their lives.
Although equally beautiful and intelligent, Jiang Nansun (Liu Shishi) and Zhu Suosuo (Ni Ni) have disparate backgrounds and different personalities. Suosuo's family situation was bad. Nansun's family takes her in and the two forge a deep friendship. As adults, they come to walk very different paths. Zhu Suosuo quickly learns the ways of the world by using her wit and beauty to her advantage. Jiang Nansun chooses to focus on her studies and builds an outstanding career. Even as they enter the next chapter of their lives, times change and circumstances change but their friendship endures.
