Synopsis and Plot Summary

Set near the end of the Battle of Shanghai in 1937 is a story about a group of heroes who fought alone for 4 days and 4 nights to defend the Sihang warehouse which was under seige by the Imperial Japanese army. Known as the 524th Regiment of the 88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army, the army of only 400 men became known as 'The Eight Hundred'.

It has hit box office numbers of over $40 million by late afternoon on its opening day, August 21.
It was released early in some parts of China on August 14, 2020 with box office surpassing 10 million yuan.
Initially set to be part of the Shanghai Film Festival and to be released on July 5, 2019, it was suddenly cancelled likely due to political reasons as the story revolves around the Nationalist Army of the Republic of China.
It is the first Chinese movie shot in its entirety using Imax cameras.
Filming took place in Suzhou and Ningbo.
Filming was supposed to start in January 27 but due to the amount of time it took to build the set, it was delayed.
Filming began on September 9, 2017 in Suzhou and wrapped after 230 days in April 2018.
