Synopsis and Plot Summary

A touching story of a woman's struggles in finding love. Xie Qiao is a Beijing girl who leaves for a foreign country for the sake of love. After many ups and downs, she chooses to return home and fulfill her dreams.

Xie Qiao (Yu Feihong) meets Qin Huai (Chen Yifei), a Chinese-American man, through a blind date. Falling in love at the age of 35, she resolutely quits her job and packs up her bags to be with the man that she loves. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, she realizes that her fiancee has been keeping a secret from her.

Xie Qiao falls into the awkward situation of being unable to let go of Qin Huai and being unable to accept the truth, her wounded pride preventing her from returning home to China. Fortunately, restaurant owner Tian Er Mai (Jiang Wu) was around to help her through hard times. Her stay in the United States opens her eyes to the different situations encountered by Chinese nationals abroad. Xie Qiao urges Qin Huai to seek employment opportunities in China while also planning to end their relationship. A new relationship starts just as one ends but it comes with a lot of emotional baggage. Until one day, Xie Qiao looks back to realize that the man she loves has always been beside her.
