Synopsis and Plot Summary
A realistic story that portrays the hardships in the rural areas of China during the 1990's. It follows a 13-year-old girl from the countryside called in to be a substitute teacher and was told not to lose any of her students. When a young boy goes missing in order to look for work in the big city, she becomes determined to bring him back. The movie highlights the importance of educational reform in the face of poverty and illiteracy.
