Synopsis and Plot Summary
It follows the story of first secretary Liu Shicheng who arrives at a rural village and engages in efforts to help the poor become self-sufficient as they build a beautiful countryside to call their home.
Liu Shicheng (Lai Xi) came to the village with a car full of books as a gift to everyone. While the villagers had some complaints, they still welcomed him with open arms. Li Mulin (Niu Ben) even gave Liu Shicheng a puppy to help him get over his fear of dogs. Village director Li Wenxiu (Wang Yajie) is dedicated to assisting Liu Shicheng in his work but it ends up inviting the suspicions of her mother-in-law. Through their continued education, Liu Shicheng aims to turn his fellow villagers into a skilled labor force as he takes them on a road to prosperity.
