Synopsis and Plot Summary
A young lady from a wealthy merchant family in Chengbei and the young daughter of a Chengdong martial artist were born on the same day and also got married on the same day. However, a mistake puts them in the wrong carriage as they embark on an unexpected path to finding true love.
During the early years of Tang Dynasty, there lived two beautiful girls in Yangzhou who are getting married on the same day. Their families bought the exact same wedding dress for their daughters and only their veils were different. Du Bingyan (Xiao Lilin) who hails from a rich family was supposed to marry Qi Tianlei (Nie Yuan), the third son of a wealthy merchant in Linzhou. Li Yuhu (Huang yi) was set to marry Yuan Buqu (Shuai Xiaohong), a general guarding the border.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Qi Tianlei is a sickly man who needed the marriage to bring him good health. General Yuan is rumored to have such a terrible fortune that his previous wives have all died. The two ladies secretly weep for their respective fates and it rained hard on the day of their wedding. The two brides ended up taking refuge at the same temple where they soon became blood sisters. In the chaos that ensued, they each got on the wrong carriage and went on their way to meet the wrong groom.
