Synopsis and Plot Summary
The story tells about two different plots intertwining with each other: the first centered on the love story between Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu, and the second centered on the powerful Ning and Rong families.
Eons ago, the goddess Nuwa abandoned a sentient stone she created that was supposed to mend the heavens. As time passed, the sentient stone came to life in great despair as it was never used by the goddess. One day, as a Taoist priest and a Buddhist monk pass by, the stone begged for a chance to see the world. The two agree and as they walk towards the rich and prosperous land in the mortal realm.
Focusing on the powerful Jia, Shi, Wang, and Xue families, Jia Baoyu (Yu Xiaotong) and Lin Daiyu (Jiang Mengjie) are two lovers who struggle to fight the political system and traditions of their time. They eventually end up completely betraying the system, leading to their tragic fate. Meanwhile, the rise and fall of the Jia family is shown as the story progresses.
