Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story that explores the obscure tradition of Chinese ghost weddings. A young woman who agrees to become a ghost bride finds herself caught in the middle of a murder mystery connected to the afterlife.
Set in 1890's Malacca, the story follows Li Lan (Huang Peijia), the dignified daughter of a family that has fallen from grace. She receives a marriage proposal to become a ghost bride which entails her to marry the deceased son of the wealthy Lin family. In return, she can live in comfort and save her own family from financial ruin. However, there is a catch. She will be haunted by her husband's ghost with no means of escape.
