Synopsis and Plot Summary
Retired soldier Xiangqian gives up a deputy director position to return to his hometown and run for village chief.
Xiangqian (Zhao Da) is a man full of ideas. However, his father-in-law Tian Maoshan (Pan Changjiang) and the village's richest man Liu Guixiang (Han Zhao) oppose him at every turn. His wife Tian Xiaomei (Wang Yidan) can't understand his actions and demands a divorce. Even so, he refuses to give up on his dreams to better the lives of those around him.
