Synopsis and Plot Summary
In the 1980's, two brothers from a farming village leave the impoverished countryside and head to the city of Haizhou to pursue a better life.
Liu Xinghe (He Shengming) is kind and eager to learn but gives the opportunity to study to his younger brother Liu Xingchen (Zheng Kai). Nonetheless, he also ends up in the city to follow village muse Hao Yiduo (Mu Tingting). Hao Yiduo puts all of her wedding dowry into an investment without knowing that it was a scam. In trying to help her out, Liu Xinghe meets Su Zitong (Ying Er). Zitong is grateful to Xinghe for saving her previously so she recommends him to her father for a job. Meanwhile, Xingchen grows jealous of his older brother and repeatedly causes trouble. Nonetheless, Xinghe wants nothing more than to help his brother walk the right path.
