Synopsis and Plot Summary

Endless competitions takes place on the ping pong tables with two young men at the center. Xu Tan is physically weak but strongly passionate and Yu Kenan is unruly but talented.

Despite their opposite personalities, Xu Tan (Bai Jingting) and Yu Kenan's (Timmy Xu) mirror the same journey in their sports careers and witness a pivotal time in the history of Chinese ping pong. Xu Tan is a player who undergoes a major transformation. Under the influence of his grandfather, he starts the sport to improve his health and gets noticed for his abilities. Yu Kenan (Timmy Xu) is the star player from a famous family who comes to realize that there are many things he has yet to learn. For their dreams and for the sake of their country, they stand at two ends during the biggest competition of their lives.

Filming took place in Shenzhen.
Filming began on November 19, 2018.
It follows the 20-year development of ping pong in China.
The writing team took two years in the creative process for the script. They interviewed a thousand players to understand the life of an athlete.
Timmy Xu started to train for the role as early as August under the guidance of a national athlete.
Production selected around forty actors with a background in table tennis. Before filming began, the actors were put through a training bootcamp.
It is part of the 86 recommended dramas to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
