Synopsis and Plot Summary

As the children grow up, Home With Kids 3 explores how the daughter of the family, Xia Xue, encounters many challenges after failing to be admitted to university.

The Xia family's eldest daughter Xia Xue (Danlin) applies to Tsing Hua University but fails to get in after being short of three points from the passing grade. She also encounters difficulties in looking for a job. As she chooses to retake the examinations, it triggers a series of events for the blended family of five comprised of Liu Mei (Song Dandan), Xia Donghai (Gao Yalin), Liu Xing (Zhang Yishan) and Xia Yu (You Haoran). A formerly obedient daughter becomes a problematic teen. She is busy with interviews, trying to make changes and it seems that their family relationship cannot be mended.

Fun Facts

Filming took place in Beijing.
Due to issues over pay that led to disagreements with production, head writer Li Jianhong left for another company while Home With Kids 3 was in production.
During filming, Zhang Yishan's mom was always on set to accompany her son.
Yang Zi who played Xia Xue in Home With Kids 1 and 2 could not return for the third season due to exams. Dan Lin who came back from the US took over the role.
