Synopsis and Plot Summary
Yan Linger (Luo Mi) used to be a fire spirit inside Taishang Laojun's bagua furnace. During Sun Wukong's (Benny Chan) rebellion against the heavens, she becomes captivated by his tameless confidence. As the bagua furnace falls into the volcano, she silently waits for the arrival of Sun Wukong.
Fun Facts
- Eric Tsang and Carman Lee are longtime friends. Carman Lee agreed to star in the movie upon Eric Tsang's invitation.
- It is Carman Lee and Benny Chan's second time working together 21 years since the 1997 wuxia adaptation of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils.
- Tze-chung Lam had the hardest time while filming during the hot summer. Because the director thought that he wasn't fat enough to play Zhu Ba Jie, he had to wear extra layers of clothing. His makeup took even longer than Benny Chan who played Monkey King and his clothes would be drowning in sweat.
