Synopsis and Plot Summary
When an important witness disappears, ICAC investigator Chan King-chi goes to great lengths to find him but encounters a series of unexpected events on the way back to Hong Kong.
A serious illegal bribery case has been under ICAC investigation for many years. The court hearing is postponed when the defendant escapes and Hui Chik-yiu (Nick Cheung) who is the only important witness and whistleblower failed to appear on the court date. To ensure that the hearing can proceed as scheduled seven days later, ICAC investigator Chan King-chi (Sean Lau) and his ex-wife Kong Suet-yee (Karena Lam) have no choice but to work together to find the witness. To their surprise, their investigation leads them to uncover the defendant and witness's other identities. As questions arise, a massive conspiracy is unearthed.
