Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story that follows an ordinary family of farmers that move to the city to fulfill their dreams.

Luo Tianfu (Zhang Guoqiang) and his family have put down roots in Xijing to get their children a proper education. In the city, Tianfu witnesses the difficulties encountered by the small man. His cake shop experiences many setbacks and his wife, unhappy with his stubborn and conservative methods in running a business, threatens to separate. Their son Jiacheng finds it difficult to adjust to their new life and runs away repeatedly. Tianfu begins to question his own principles and second guesses his decision to move to the city, but his daughter remains by his side to encourage and support him.
