Synopsis and Plot Summary
A former detective returns to Shanghai to uncover the truth around his father's death and joins hands with a female cop to fight crime.
In the year 1932 following the events of the January 28 incident, Shanghai retains its prosperous glory. Zeng Mou (Wu Xiubo) who used to be an accomplished detective within the international settlement returns to Shanghai to investigate the truth behind his adoptive father's death. He joins hands with a female cop named Yang Xue (Tang Yan) to crack a series of cases.
Through his meeting with Li Mo, Zeng Mou discovers a strand of clue that leads him to uncover a conspiracy regarding Japan's calculated invasion of China. The Battle of Shanghai erupts and the city becomes isolated, yet Zeng Mou and his comrades remain determined to help those who continue to fight for their country. As Zeng Mou draws out the mastermind, the truth around his father's case also comes to light.
