Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story between a former police cadet who was kicked out of school and a cop who starts hunting him down because of a personal vendetta.

Song Chao (Nie Yuan) becomes embroiled in a case involving the murder of a cop and had to go on the run. To help a good friend, he returns to where it started. Liu Haiyang (Tan Kai) is a cop on active duty who devotes everything towards chasing down Song Chao because of the death of his father. As he follows the trail, he discovers that Song Chao has a mysterious connection to his wife Chu Jie (Xu Lu) and that there is a greater conspiracy to uncover.

Fun Facts

The premiere was moved from August 24, 2018 to September 7, 2018.
Filming took place in Harbin and Sanya.
Filming lasted two months beginning on January 12, 2017 and ending on March 20, 2017.
Nie Yuan and Tan Kai play enemies in the movie, but they are very supportive of each other in real life. Tan Kai praised Nie Yuan's character for his righteousness while Nie Yuan admits that he watched Teacher Tan Kai's movies growing up.
During a meeting with the press, Nie Yuan and Tan Kai struck a classic police pose holding ice batons.
To get into character, Nie Yuan came to Harbin early to experience the lifestyle in the region. Tan Kai did the same to experience police life.
Jiang Kaiyang spent eight years on the script.
The cast and crew filmed in below zero temperatures in Harbin and had to endure high heat while filming in Sanya, all for the sake of the movie.
