Filming began in August 2017.
It is part of the Beijing trilogy by Feng Tang that includes Give Me a Chick at 18, Everything Grows, and Beijing, Beijing.
Guo Qilin said that his character is 85% similar to himself.
There is a scene in the drama where the characters were drinking in a bar. The crew initially prepared green tea instead of alcohol but because Guo Qilin though it wouldn't be as satisfying, the props were changed to real alcohol.
