Synopsis and Plot Summary
The group of heroes are pulled into another tomb-raiding expedition that takes them beneath the sea. In an ancient Ming Dynasty ship, they encounter monstrous creatures and puzzling traps.
Wu Xie (Neo Hou) opens the box that he obtained from the Seven Star Coffins of Lu Wang's Palace to discover a snake-browed copper fish. Wu Sansheng (Yao Lu) recounts the strange occurrences over ten years ago when they went on an archaeological expedition to Paracel Islands. Wu Xie leads a team down to the same place to explore a sunken ship where hidden dangers await.
Fun Facts
- In November 2016, Tencent announced its plans for a season 2 of The Lost Tomb. Qin Junjie took the stage as one of the stars in the drama although it was not revealed what role was playing.
- In May 2018, the cast of season 2 was finally announced. Yang Yang, Li Yifeng did not return to reprise their roles. Qin Junjie was also not in the cast.
- It has hit 100 million views 15 hours after its premiere.
- On June 19, the drama hits 1 billion views two weeks after its premiere.
- It is based on Daomu Biji 2 of 9 books by Nan Pai San Shu.
- The ending of the series already touches upon Daomu Biji 3 (云顶天宫).
