Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story that revolves around a woman who becomes a widow but chooses to stay with her husband's family while overcoming the hardships that it may bring.
Towards the end of the 1980's, Ren Xiai (Zhu Rui) marries into a simple family of farmers that reside by the riverbank. Her husband dies unexpectedly leaving her to support a sickly mother-in-law, two brother-in-laws who are are still too young and a burdensome debt. Because of her love for her late husband, Xiai refuses her parents' invitation to return home and becomes takes the role of a breadwinner in her new family.
