Synopsis and Plot Summary

A coming-of-age story of a city boy whose extraordinary encounters take him on a journey to becoming a hero. He, along with two other friends, go on a quest to find a cure for their mentor but fall down snow-capped mountains.

In the year 1980's, Zhang Baoqiang hails from the city of Beijing. He travels Northeast on his own and becomes friends with two eagle hunters, Cai Gua (Vicky Chen) and her younger brother Er Bi Zi (Sean Zheng). The three traverse the snowy mountains in search of medicine for their mentor, and an accident leads Zhang Baoqing to find an egg that hatches into a majestic white eagle. The creature ignites a series of events that put the young heroes in danger and they begin to understand that the extent of human greed and its ability to completely tip the balance with nature.

Fun Facts

• Tianxia Bachang spent three years writing the novel. He also played many roles in the making of the drama.
• The script took one year to write, and the production team spent seven months to prepare for filming, of which three months was spent scouting for the location.
• Filming took place in Changbai Mountain.
• Filming wrapped on April 27, 2018 and lasted 142 days.
• The cast is made up of young actors, the youngest of which is leading lady Vicky Chen who was 14 years old at the time of filming.
• Former child actress Jiang Yiyi who is only 17 years old guest stars as a supporting character.
• After its initial broadcast on Youku, it was announced that Eagles and Youngster will be airing on Dragon TV. However, the show only aired for less than two weeks before it was pulled from broadcast to be replaced by Speed starring Elvis Han.
• In a scene where Karry Wang had to give Wen Qi CPR, netizens wondered whether it was Karry Wang's first onscreen kiss. Director Gary Sing explained that they used angles to complete the scene so the leads did not touch lips.
