- It is produced by Huace Film & TV and One Cool Film.
- It brings together the original cast from the 2001 drama A Step Into the Past for a movie.
- It tackles a different story from the original but Louis Koo has reassured fans that Xiang Shao Long will be back.
- For years, Louis Koo has been toying with the idea of turning the 2001 TVB hit drama into a movie without success. It was only until 2014 when Louis Koo founded One Cool Film Production that he was able to proceed with his plans. In early 2017, he confirmed that a movie is in the works.
- Jessica Hsuan said that she has been doing some homework of her own and reviewing the drama in preparation for filming.
- It will be the first time for Louis Koo, Raymond Lam and Jessica Hsuan to work together again since A Step into the Past.
