Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story set during a fictional era that revolves around the city of De Cheng, a place where innocent people suffer from rampant corruption and greedy individuals.

Bao Zheng (Zhang Duo) is a righteous prosecutor who arrives at De Cheng. He joins a investigation bureau called DBI and works with detectives Sun Ze (Wang Kai), Zhang Zhao (George Hu) and forensic examiner Hu Xue Li (Zhang Li) to fight organized crime.

Wu Zheng who wrote the screenplay took inspiration from 19th century novel to create familiar characters based on Bao Zheng, Gongsun Ce, Zhan Zhao, Bai Yutang, etc.
