Synopsis and Plot Summary

It follows an ordinary girl and her classmate from high school to university, from the workplace all the way to the altar as they tell a sweet love story between two people who grow together as a couple.

Zhao Qiaoyi (Janice Wu) and Yan Mo (Zhang Yujian) shared a desk in high school. One is failing while the other excels in just about everything. The two polar opposites with very different life goals make a pact to study abroad together. Qiao Yi wasn't able to hold up her end of the bargain due to family issues and loses touch with Yan Mo after graduation. Four years later, during a school reunion, they meet again.

Deciding to be true to her feelings, Zhao Qiaoyi moves to the same city where Yan Mo works, yet she discovers that he already has someone else. Yan Mo may be good at many things, but he does not know how to express his feelings well. When it comes to Zhao Qiaoyi, he goes above and beyond to do things for her that only he knows about.

Fun Facts

Filming took place in Hangzhou, China in 2018.
The novel that the drama is based on is a compilation of anecdotes about the author's own story with her husband.
Qiao Yi which is the author's name is also the name of the heroine. Fans felt that Janice Wu was perfect for the part.

The main cast are from the same talent agency which also produced the drama.
After repeated rumors and Janice Wu being papped with a toddler in March 2021, Zhang Yujian confirmed they indeed got married and have a daughter together.
Janice Wu and Zhang Yujian announced their divorce on February 14, 2022.
