Synopsis and Plot Summary

A complicated love story revolving around a university student, her classmate, her colleague and the man that she marries.

During the late 1950's, Wen Yiqiu (Yin Tao) who is a student at the Communication University of China falls in love with Vickar, a radio communications expert from the Soviet Union. They get married in Beijing, but Vickar is forced to leave the country after the Soviets recall their team of experts. Wen Yiqiu moves to Heihe, a city on the borders of China and Russia, in order to be closer to Vickar. Vickar also finds work at Blagoveshchensk, a Russian city opposite of Heihe. They manage to find each other through radio frequencies, yet their love continues to be put to the test.
