Synopsis and Plot Summary
A fantasy adventure revolving around a young Zhong Kui as he bands together with friends to form a three-man team dedicated to catching demons. It also tackles a tragic romance across several lifetimes. The drama will be split into six stories, each inspired by Chinese folklore.

- It is produced by Beijing Ling Ji Ying Shi.
- Filming took place in Xiangshan, Zhejiang.
- It is Jian Renzi's first time portraying the different characters in one drama.
- It is Xing Zhaolin and Jian Renzi's first collaboration together.
- In November 2017, fans surprised Xing Zhaolin by coming to the set bearing gifts - one hundred goodie bags for the crew and a food truck serving pearl milk tea, lemon tea, fruits and snacks. Cast members, the production team and other staff received individual gifts while Xing Zhaolin received a care package and a Bvlgari perfume. There was also a second fan visit held by his official fan club.
- In Chinese mythology, Zhong Kui is the vanquisher of demons and ghosts. During the Tang Dynasty, it is said that despite topping the civil service exams, he was turned away by the Emperor for being too ugly and committed suicide on the palace steps in a fit of rage, thus being sentenced to live in hell.
- It was suddenly announced on Oct. 31, 2021 that the series will premiere on the same day.
