Synopsis and Plot Summary
A story that revolves around Xiang Shao Long, an elite member of the Hong Kong G4 police force. He is a 21st century man who travels back two thousand years in time to the Warring States Era and begins a historical journey as he embarks on a mission to find Ying Zheng.
In a futuristic time during the 21st century, the first time travel machine was invented. Xiang Shao Long (Louis Koo) is selected as the best candidate and he agrees due to personal reasons as he also hopes to use time travel to win back his ex. His mission is to witness the historical moment of Ying Zheng's (Raymond Lam) ascension to the throne. Unfortunately, the machine malfunctions and sends Xiang Shao Long to a time one year earlier. Determined to return to the future, Xiang Shao Long is desperate to find Ying Zheng.
At this time, Ying Zheng is still a hostage in Zhao and he is nothing like the Qin Emperor of history books. Along the way, Xiang Shao Long wins the admiration of Wu Ting Fang (Jessica Hsuan) which also invites the jealousy of a cunning swordsman named Lian Jin (Kwong Wa). Xiang Shao Long begins to serve the King of Zhao and was tasked with guarding the 3rd Princess Zhao Qian (Michelle Saram) as she is married off to Wei. He also meets Qin Qing (Sonija Kwok), a woman who looks exactly like his ex-girlfriend from the future. The more Xiang Shao Long becomes involved, the more complicated his task becomes as he tries to ensure that history will unfold in the way that it was written.
