Synopsis and Plot Summary

A story about a young woman who willingly marches into the front lines of a rebellion and devotes her youth towards helping her countrymen. Gradually, she becomes an indispensable member of the Communist Party as an underground spy.

During the 715 Incident in the Year 1927, Xia Heng Xuan (Jackal Gao) faced certain death in order to save Communist compatriot Ren Zhi Yuan (Tan Kai). He leaves a younger sister Xia Yu Zhu (Yang Zi Shan) and her maid Shuang Ju (Nikita Mao) to depend on each other. The weak and fragile Yu Zhu learns to make a living for herself while Shuang Ju ends up joining the Kuomintang under the recommendation of Xiao Cheng Bi (Liu Min).

Years later, Xia Yu Zhu's path crosses with Ren Zhi Yuan and she decides to join the Communists, all while Shuang Ju moves up the ranks within the Kuomingtang. War erupts and the two ladies meet again, yet they are at opposing sides and working on their respective missions. Yu Zhu discovers that Xiao Cheng Bi's younger brother Xiao Jun Hao (Chen Xiao) has similar ideals as her and they find love despite living in turbulent times.

• It is produced by Shanghai Youhug Media and directed by Jin Ye.
• Filming took place in Shanghai and Jiangsu.
• Chen Xiao and Yang Zi Shan had to film a kissing scene on their first day of work but they found their chemistry right away and was able to complete the scene in two takes.
• It is the first time for Chen Xiao and Yang Zi Shan to attempt a Republican drama.
